Mid-Century Style For The Basement
Creating a Mid-Century style basement is a great way to expand personal living space. Mid-century designs conjure up images of sleepovers, dance parties, and game rooms. Today, a basement can be used for a variety of purposes, from a home office to an in-law suite for elderly parents. They also add warmth and charm to a room without compromising functionality.
A mid-century modern basement design is often inspired by the style of houses built in the 1950s. The style began to evolve in the 1950s as an American family needs changed. In addition to being influenced by modern architecture, these homes have open floor plans. Many mid-century modern homes are shaped like rectangles on their sides. The design was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, which was a prototype of mid-century modern.
The walls of the basement feature original pine paneling, which has aged to a darker color. The paneling was not touched during the renovation. The room’s unique style makes it a great place to host a party or watch a movie. And if you’re looking for an easy way to add a touch of Mid-Century style to your basement, Mid-Century design is the way to go.
